I launched Pūkenga Psychology a pakihi dedicated to hauora based practices and products.
I have worked in and around mental health for years now. Through my mahi I have seen time and time again the need for Māori based resources and taonga to support our people to Whakapiki their hauora.
As a response to and dedication to revitalizing and reindiginising our response to our peoples hauora needs I have come up with several resources both physical and digital to support this.
This includes:
Karakia packs in various sizes with 20 traditional karakia (ones people are familiar with). They have Te Reo Māori on one side and English on the revere. They were created to improve access to learn, use and understand karakia any place, anytime. Support our people to speak and feel confident with their Te Reo Māori. To support people to use tikanga and hauora based practices within their whanau, whare, mahi or kura when they need to.
I also have created several digital resources for people to explore their hauora more personally. These include hauora planning sheets, journal prompts, hauora checklist (ideas to nurture various domains of your hauora) and others.
I understand karakia are special and our pakihi is value driven with our people in mind. Hence a big part of our kaupapa is making karakia accessible to all. Hence we have created the koha kaupapa.
